Awesome, cheap, all-ages concert tomorrow!
Blitzen Trapper, one of my favorite bands right now, plays at Kilby Court TONIGHT. Tickets are a cool $6, which is, frankly, almost embarrassing. We should be paying more… But we’re not. Blitzen Trapper is half Wowee Zowee-era Pavement, half dirt-head hillbilly stomp music, with a little Sonic Youth thrown in for good measure. Plus, if you’ve never been to Kilby Court, this is your opportunity to peek into the Salt Lake (slightly) “underground” scene–it’s an awesomely apocalyptic venue.
Also, don’t forget about Peter Bjorn and John playing free on Thursday night at the Gallivan Center. The place is going to be packed for this one, so get there early!
Jeepers. This is a red letter week for indie rock in SLC.
